Description
In December 2013, the Attorney General of Canada filed a Request for Direction regarding the implementation of the 2006 Indian Residential Schools Settlement Agreement by the Corporation of Catholic Entities Party to the Indian Residential School Settlement (CCEPIRSS). Specifically, Canada sought clarity from the courts on CCEPIRSS’ deduction of its legal fees from its financial payments. In January 2014, CCEPIRSS responded. In this fiat, the Honourable Mr. Justice N.G. Gabrielson responds to a motion for adjournment brought on behalf of CCEPIRSS for a hearing set for June 16, 2014.. Justice Gabrielson heard the motion on June 2, 2014 and adjourns the hearing to July 17 and 18, 2014.
