The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is a Canadian, multi-lingual public broadcaster for radio and television, that was created in 1936. It is a federal Crown corporation and as such is funded by the government, but it also generates income through government, subscription fees, advertising revenue, and other revenue. The English- and French-language service units of the corporation are commonly known as CBC and Radio-Canada, and the headquarters are in Ottawa, Canada.
