We welcome you to the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre.

The records on our site emerge from the cultural and physical genocide that the Canadian government and churches conducted through the Indian Residential School System, including the ongoing impacts.

Bearing witness to these records may become overwhelming. If you are a Survivor or an Intergenerational Survivor and would like support, you can call the 24-hour National Indian Residential School Crisis Line at:

Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan

Description
The Court of the Queen’s Bench is one of three types of courts in Saskatchewan, the other two being the Provincial Court and the Court of Appeal. Along with the Court of Appeal, it is known as a superior court, because it has greater jurisdiction than the Provincial Court. The Court of the Queen’s Bench deals with civil, family, and criminal issues and hears appeals of decisions made by the Provincial Court. It is comprised of a Chief Justice and thirty-two other judges, all of whom are appointed by and paid by the federal government. Eight of the nine judicial centres in Saskatchewan have at least one resident Queen’s Bench Justices, but the Court of the Queen’s Bench is itinerant and judges may travel and try cases in other judicial centres also.
