We welcome you to the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre.

The records on our site emerge from the cultural and physical genocide that the Canadian government and churches conducted through the Indian Residential School System, including the ongoing impacts.

Bearing witness to these records may become overwhelming. If you are a Survivor or an Intergenerational Survivor and would like support, you can call the 24-hour National Indian Residential School Crisis Line at:

Description
This folder contains material about presentations given by Larry Loyie and Constance Brissenden between 2011 and 2017.

Some materials included are from an HIV/AIDS workshop facilitated by the Sagitawa Friendship Society for Elders on February 15th, 2012. The event centred on the views of Survivors and involved "storytelling; Puya ([a] name for Cree storytellers, meaning 'liar' but not in a negative way); memories of traditional life; group poem about traditional life; acting scene from Ora Pro Nobis, Pray for Us (Living Traditions, 1998) and talking about army runaways; reading from The Gathering Tree and discussion on HIV/AIDS" (Timeline, p. 82).
