This video is a recording of a virtual dialogue hosted by the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre at the University of British Columbia on the topic of the Government of Canada’s Bill C-15. The dialogue is co-facilitated by Dr. Mary-Ellen Turpel-Lafond, former Academic Director of the Centre, and Dr. Roshan Danesh, QC. It begins with an introduction to, and overview of, the proposed legislation to implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Two panels follow, "Political Perspectives" and "Expert Perspectives," in which participants provide diverse political, expert, and legal views on Bill C-15.
