Description
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a public research university in Canada. Established in 1908, UBC now hosts over 80,000 students, faculty, and staff. The University has two campuses, one in Vancouver on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking Musqueam people and the other in Kelowna on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation.

UBC's stated purpose is to pursue "excellence in research, learning and engagement to foster global citizenship and advance a sustainable and just society across British Columbia, Canada and the world” (University of British Columbia).
