We welcome you to the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre.

The records on our site emerge from the cultural and physical genocide that the Canadian government and churches conducted through the Indian Residential School System, including the ongoing impacts.

Bearing witness to these records may become overwhelming. If you are a Survivor or an Intergenerational Survivor and would like support, you can call the 24-hour National Indian Residential School Crisis Line at:

Description
The First Nations House of Learning serves as the communications, coordinating, and strategic planning unit for high-level Indigenous initiatives at UBC, including the University’s Indigenous Strategic Plan. It also works to support successful interactions between Indigenous-orientated academic, cultural, and community programs and initiatives at UBC and the broader Indigenous community, especially involving the Musqueam Indian Band. FNHL directs the operations of the First Nations Longhouse, which serves as a centre for Indigenous students and as a space for Indigenous academic programming and social events.
