We welcome you to the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre.

The records on our site emerge from the cultural and physical genocide that the Canadian government and churches conducted through the Indian Residential School System, including the ongoing impacts.

Description
Contains materials related to a production tour as well as other readings and performances of Larry Loyie's work for theatre, Ora Pro Nobis.

Larry Loyie and Constance Brissenden met with producer, Trude Huebner, for the first time in November of 1994 to discuss touring Ora Pro Nobis (Pray for Us), to various prisons within British Columbia. What resulted was the Ora Pro Nobis “Pen to Pen” tour of 5 federal prisons across the Lower Mainland from February 14-16, 1995. The months prior to the tour were busy with rehearsals, tour meetings, as well as prop and costume organization; all in addition to Loyie’s other work and travel related to the Literacy Movement. The tour preparation period was such a busy time that Brissenden marked in her day timer on December 11th that “Larry fell asleep at 7pm.”1

The tour engaged the following contributors:
Playwright: Larry Loyie
Director: Constance Brissenden
Actors: Evan Tlesla Adams, Marie Humber Clements, Leith Harris, Wayne Lavallee, Mark Prior, Marianne Sundown, Sophie Merasty
Musical Director Amy Eusterguerling
Producer: Trude Huebner
Tour Manager: Tim Cardinal
Publicity: Trude Huebner
Poster: Ron Woodward
