Description
Grand Chief of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Phil Fontaine, appeared on CBC to speak about the physical and sexual abuse he experienced at the Fort Alexander Residential School in Sagkeeng, Manitoba. His appearance led to increased public knowledge and discussion in the media about abuses at residential school, and aided Survivor groups that were forming across Canada.
