St. Joseph's Residential School opens

Description
St. Joseph’s Residential School opened as “St. Joseph's Industrial School,” under Father J. M. Le Jacq of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). It was located at St. Joseph’s Mission, in the central interior of British Columbia, near Williams Lake. The school was built by the Catholic Church, and in 1892 there were twenty students in residence.
