Description
1890: Kootenay or St. Eugene’s residential school opened just north of Cranbrook. 

1912: The first school was replaced with an industrial school. 

1930: The OMI Provincial reports to Indian Affairs of impure water, bad sewage system and lack of milk for tubercular children. 

1969: The federal government took over the operation of the residence.
