Description
1900: Catholic school opens, on Meares Island, BC, operated by Order of St. Benedict and after 1938, Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate

1940: 80 cases of measles were reported at the school

1964: Documented case of 2 boys running away from the school, they left in a dugout canoe and were missing a day and a half before being returned to the school.
