Unmarked graves located near the former Brandon Residential School

Description
Sioux Valley Dakota Nation announced that 104 potential graves had been located at three sites near the former Brandon Residential School in Manitoba. Only 78 of the graves were accounted for in historical records. The investigation, which is being undertaken in collaboration with researchers from Simon Fraser University, is ongoing. It includes seeking assistance from Elders, attempting to locate photographs of students, and reaching out to other First Nations whose children attended the school. The investigation commenced in 2012.
