Michaëlle Jean, former Governor General of Canada, hosted a ceremony entitled "Witnessing the Future" at Rideau Hall in Ottawa to address and discuss the history and legacy of the Indian Residential School system. During the ceremony, TRC Commissioner Murray Sinclair outlined details regarding the TRC's national and regional events.
