Description
The Governor General of the Province of Canada, Sir Charles Bagot, was commissioned to conduct an inquiry into issues of administration over "Indian Affairs" in Canada. The report's findings proposed several tactics to assimilate Indigenous peoples into European culture with an emphasis on the importance of controlling the education of Indigenous children.
