Universal Declaration on Human Rights

Description
Canada signed the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. The Declaration laid out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected, and set a common standard of achievement for all peoples and nations. Although residential schools were a violation of human rights under the Declaration, their operation continued.
