Description
The Healing Circle is a chronicle of courage, pain and spirituality. Anglican Video was granted a rare entrée into the traditional, sacred healing rites of native people as they struggle to overcome the legacy of their residential school experiences. Over a two-year period, Anglican Video documented healing circles in Lytton, BC, and Sioux Lookout, ON, recorded proceedings of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples and conducted extensive interviews with native leaders, including Assembly of First Nations chief, Ovide Mercredi; traditional healer, Seis’lom, and many others. The result is a powerful and moving documentary that testifies to the resurgence of a people's spirit.
