We welcome you to the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre.

The records on our site emerge from the cultural and physical genocide that the Canadian government and churches conducted through the Indian Residential School System, including the ongoing impacts.

Bearing witness to these records may become overwhelming. If you are a Survivor or an Intergenerational Survivor and would like support, you can call the 24-hour National Indian Residential School Crisis Line at:

Description
"The language of a people reflects the heart and soul of a people. The Yinka Dene Language Institute reflects the vision of Dene Elders to preserve and promote the Dene Language. This language is our truest link to our past, our history and our way of life. By this we know who we are and where we came from. Through the co-ooperative effort of the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council, School District #56 (Nechako) and the College of New Caledonia the Institute has completed one year of operations. . . ."
