Location
First location, 1891-1915: "Point is on the approximate site of the first location of the Portage La Prairie Residential School. The school buildings were in use from 1891 until 1915. The property was east of the original post office near the edge of the town limits" (Orlandini, 2019).
Second location, 1915-1975: "Point is on the main residential school building of the Portage La Prairie Residential School. The building was built in 1915 and used by the school until 1975. Building is now called the Rufus Prince Building which is home of the Dakota Ojibway Police Services, Long Plain First Nation Trust, LPFN Gaming Commission, and the Brandon University Teacher Education Program" (Orlandini, 2019).Location Credit
