Mistassini Hostels (QC)

September 1, 1971 - June 30, 1978
Description
The government of Canada opened three hostels in Mistassini, Québec, in 1971. Each hostel could house up to twelve students. The students attended the Mistassini day school. In 1976 the Cree School Board assumed responsibility for the hostels. (National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation)

"Point is on the site of the Federal School in Mistissini that was attended by the students. There were three residence (hostel) houses in the community the exact locations are unknown. In 2018, there is a school building present on the site" (Orlandini, 2019).
