Description
Roman Catholic missionaries founded the McIntosh School with federal government support in 1925 in McIntosh, northwestern Ontario. In 1965, the main residence was destroyed by fire. It was not rebuilt. As a result, many of the students were sent to other schools in Northwest Ontario. The school was closed in 1969. (National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation)

Location
"Point is on the site of the main residential school building of the McIntosh Residential School. The building was constructed in the 1920s and burnt down in 1965. There were several buildings built on the property from 1932 until the late 1960s. From 1965 until the school closed in 1969, the classroom block was used as the residence building" (Orlandini, 2019).
