Description
The Guy Hill School, originally known as the Sturgeon Landing Boarding School, was located at Sturgeon Landing, Saskatchewan on the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border. When the school burned down in 1952 students were moved to temporary quarters in The Pas, Manitoba. A new school was opened in 1958 at Clearwater, Manitoba, 25 miles from The Pas. From 1971 to 1979, a Native Skills Program was offered at the school. While the school closed in 1979, during the 1990s a number of Aboriginal health conferences were held at the school. Location
First location, 1952-1958: "Point is on the site of the convent building that was used as the Girl's dormitory, dining hall, kitchen, and laundry facilities for the Guy Indian Residential School. The school moved to this location from Sturgeon Landing in 1952. The school used several buildings on the Roman Catholic church property in the Pas from 1952 to 1958" (Orlandini, 2019).
 
Second location, 1958-1979: "Point is on the site of the main building of the second location of the Guy Hill Residential School. The building is no longer present" (Orlandini, 2019).
